Possible solution for 8series nvidia brigthness

This doesn't sound like a terribly ideal solution. What problem are you 
actually trying to solve here? If it's that sony-laptop provides a 
backlight interface on machines where that doesn't work, fixing that 
(and providing a separate kernel interface for smartdimmer-based 
machines) would seem like a better plan.
