freetype 2.1.7 aliasing bug

This bug may be of interest to others, however it probably wont 
affect people who use the in-tree freetype as X builds with 
-fno-strict-aliasing by default IIRC:

Be sure to follow Dan's URL to get to the details.  Thought I'd 
mention this here, because many others are likely to hit the same 
bug when packaging xorg-x11 or building XFree86 4.4.0 also, or 
even older XFree86 releases linking to freetype 2.1.7.
