Errors while trying to start xserver(xvesa, xnvidia, etc)

Really? that's odd, I just use -ac and it seems to work.  I followed the
post except i specified "3 weeks ago" instead of "a week ago" (did this
today) and then recompiled X11 and xserver and it worked.
