The plan is to get xserver running on top of OpenGL. That way xserver will
benefit from the hardware acceleration of a 3D engine. Benchmarks from the Cairo
list show 3D mode to be about 100:1 faster than current X drawing. The xserver
copositing engine will also make good use of the 3D hardware.
