[PATCH 0/3] Fix S3 entry crashes

This patch series resolves crashes observed during S3 entry.
First patch removes the cursor BO hack which causes crashes
mentioned in patches 2 and 3. Patches 2 and 3 add NULL
checks to prevent crashing the system.
