Yeah, those are rather good arguments.

I'm not 100% convinced this is the best approach, but it's better than 
what we have so feel free to add an Acked-by: Christian König 
<christian.koenig at amd.com> to the patch.

I would just change the "unsigned long" into either u32 or u64, some for 
the other flags BTW.
