Sure. Easy enough.

And thanks for these recent reviews.

In the meantime, I've done a bunch of rebasing on my personal
repository. A new "for-upstream" branch replaces the previous
"trim-for-upstream" branch I announced earlier.

Some of the changes in the new branch compared to the old:

  * All of the non-trim-related changes (there are a bunch of them) have
    been moved to the front of the patch series. Some of them have been
    seen here on the list already.

  * Several bug fixes and new features have been applied. I've rolled
    some of the fixes into the original commits, while some are applied
    as independent features with commits of their own.

I've also got some trim-related performance improvements (some quite
significant). These are currently not included in "for-upstream" but are
instead on my "master" branch. There's a little more rebasing and
cleaning up that I want to do with these, and I'd like to get the
correctness to settle down a bit first.
