Yes, obviously this will be in the spec, I just haven't had the time
to commit the changes yet (they are really trivial though).

Yes, the layout is the same as in the hicolor icon theme. If there is
a scaling factor > 1, the type "cached" icons should be in a subfolder
<size>@<scale> in the cache path, while else the subfolder is only
called <size>.
