Aaron Seigo told me we could just clone the xdg-specs repository and merge the 
changes back once we're done. I created a clone here:

I'm currently still hard at work, but if you want to join in, just tell me 
your gitorious account and I'll add you on the repository.

Seems to work fairly well. I converted to Telepathy introspection format and 
added an xsl that converts it back to the previous format suitable for EggDBus 
binding generation. Docbook generation is next on my list.
