The udev people did it the right way. There versions numbers are
integers formatted as %03u. (e.g. 000, 001, 002, ... 065) I like that.

For all my software I used integers formatted as "0.%u". The "0."
doesn't make much sense, but I like it that way. I never released any
1.x software in my life. After 0.9 comes 0.10, 0.11, 0.12 - and not
1.0, 1.1, 1.2.

Honestly, I don't care enough about version numbers. I'd say we start
with 0.1. But that's just me. Software shouldn't be judged by version
numbers but by its quality. Just think of Windows *95*. ;-)

The nice things about to do lists is that you don't have to take them
seriously. I am personally more interested in DNSSEC for mDNS, but
time will tell what will be done.

Wide-area Bonjour requires "long lived query" support in DNS servers
as far as I know. Is there any DNS server software that provides
DNS-LLQ out-of-the-box? I don't think so. As of now I consider
LLQ/wide area bonjour an obscure Apple specific protocol nobody else
has ever implemented. As long as bind doesn't ship with support for
LLQ I don't see any point in implementing this.
