[avahi] segv in ./configure

hello,
it's the second time that happens on 2 different computer, and one
that is totally new:
checking for python script directory... ${prefix}/lib/python2.4/site-packages
checking for python extension module directory...
${exec_prefix}/lib/python2.4/site-packages
checking for python module gtk... ./configure: line 23406: 14250
Segmentation fault      $PYTHON -c "$prog" 1>&5 2>&5
no
configure: error: Could not find Python module gtk

any idea?
