I would supply a patch, however, its just 1 word, so hopefully
mentioning it here will be enough for someone who has access to change
stuff in svn.

The Gentoo init script, if you change the

need dbus

line to

use dbus

should fix it from requiring dbus in order to start.

I might add it to a patch, as I am working on the avahi-dnsconfd init
script at the moment, so we shall see.
