[avahi] dbus or not dbus?

Hello,

lathiat, i read in your blog from 2005/05/05 that you plan on using a
simple protocol over   unix socket instead of dbus.

My question is:
Is using dbus a better solution to support more programming language easily?
because dbus is already available for qt/c++ python glib/c mono/c# (maybe java?)
So wouldn't be usefull to have a dbus Api for wider adoption of avahi?
