[avahi] Can't resolve mdns names

Hi I am trying avahi but am having trouble.

I am testing two computers that are attached to my linksys wireless router
using wireless cards.

Basically I am having the same issues as Ross Burton described here

His problems seemed to have been solved by using

AllMULTI or PROMISC mode but neither work for me?

Was there any other solutions to this problem ?

Where would I begin debuging this ?
