[avahi] Network probing and other questions

      Quick questions:

      From what I read in the docs, I do not need to run avahi in the
machine I have the services I am interested in letting others know
about. So, how does it go around probing other hosts for their
services? Does it figures everyone it should care about are in the
same subnet it is?

      Is there a way to specify which services in which hosts it
should announce? Or is it all (every host providing the services avahi
was told to look for) or nothing?

      Also from the docs, it seems if you do not want other subnets
the machine -- a router comes to mind -- running avahi is babbling to
you would disable multicast on the other ports. What if you need
multicast on them? Would you just find another machine to run avahi on
or is there something a bit more clever that can be done?
