[avahi] Noob question: CUPS can resolve printer IP address but avahi-resolve cannot

On my Ubuntu machine CUPS can find my printer via DNSSD but I can't
find its IP address via avahi-resolve on the command-line, even with
the firewall temporarily disabled.

$ avahi-resolve-host-name -v dnssd://ci-lj1320-d105._pdl-datastream._tcp.local
Server version: avahi 0.6.31; Host name: guava.local
Failed to resolve host name
'dnssd://ci-lj1320-d105._pdl-datastream._tcp.local': Timeout reached

Anyone got any ideas as to why this is the case?
