[avahi] Ethernet connected printer is not discovered, any output is displayed after the execution of the command avahi-browse -art

Dear avahi community,

I installed the avahi daemon:

% sudo apt-get install avahi-daemon avahi-discover libnss-mdns

I have a printer server (parallel port - Ethernet) connected. Ethernet
cable is connected to my Laptop.

I executed the following command to discover the printer:

% sudo avahi-browse -art

However the printer is not discovered, any output is displayed after the
execution of the command.

Does anyone had this problem before? Should I set something else before
executing the command?
