The advice on the web regarding CUPS and preventing multiple discoveries is therefore now out of date. So, my question is, how do I stop printer discovery from messing up my print server? I have a simple home network, with two printers attached to one machine by USB. Yet according to Ubuntu I have four printers, none of which work correctly. When I delete them they keep reappearing.</div><div><br></div><div>What I want is to set up and test my printers on both the server and on remote linux machines, and then have everything left alone unless I choose to make a change. </div><div><br></div><div>I think what I need to do is turn off discovery. This should not be a problem for remote devices as I know the IP addresses and how to set them up.</div><div><br></div><div>This ought to be a really simple configuration matter.
