[cairo] Cairo vs. Canvas

Hi,

I have a retained-mode implementation, but that does
not provide all the functionality you want; you can't
ask any questions about object positions.

I think it would make sense to combine each
cairo_shape with a 1bpp surface that defines the input
area of that shape.
