[cairo] Simple method of drawing text a long a path

Hi all,

I've looked through the API and haven't noticed an easy way of drawing text
along a path (an arc or curve, etc), am I overlooking something? If not
would anyone happen to have a simple example of how one would go about doing
so using cairo?
