[cairo] Render to image buffer artifacts

This image produces similar results with the artifacts (sometimes really
bad on this one) and it does not render the gradient correctly.  It does
not matter if I am rendering to png or image buffer, the gradient is not
right in both cases.

Is it worthwhile to continue to post this stuff?
