Thanks, that helps; I was able to run it like this:

 ACLOCAL=./my-aclocal.sh ./autogen.sh

It appears that cairo requires pkg-config >= 0.19, but the Nokia770 only
has 0.17.2 available - did you need to upgrade the 770 in order to get
cairo building?
