[cairo] A diagram for criticism/comments

Carl,
Thanks, I am making notes. It's been a long day and my brain has stopped, but 
I spent it making a second version of the diagram which tries to incorporate 
many of the suggestions in my email early this morning.

I have posted a new message asking questions, which might duplicate what you 
explained just now. I'll merge all the replies tomorrow and see what I can 
come up with.

I like your diagram, it confirms my thoughts today that one can say (from a 
fairly abstract high level) that all the real "drawing" happens on the *mask* 
and only 'Action' (Behdad's term) commands commit the "ink" to the Surface.

I will most likely do a series of diagrams to avoid clutter, while keeping 
each one as dense as needed. They should be clear as to where each one would 
slot into the main one. Right now it's more of a struggle to get the concepts 
right - I'll lay it out better after that.

Anyway, the working version 1.1 is attached.
