[cairo] Scales, CTMs and transformations

Hello,

I'm kinda new to cairo, and I'm having trouble understanding the Scales/CTMs/Transformations concept. I read the "Cairo Tutorail for Python Programmers" and the API documentation, but with no success.

Is there any document that explain these concepts in a easier way?
