[cairo] Cairo 1.2.6 fails to compile on Mac OS X 10.5.1

Hello, I am trying to compile cairo to meet the dependencies for gtk
to meet the dependencies for xchat however cairo fails to compile...

Configured via: ./configure --enable-atsui --enable-quartz --disable-png

make failed with: Undefined symbols:
  "_FcNameConstant", referenced from:
      _get_integer_default in cairo-xlib-screen.o
ld: symbol(s) not found
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [libcairo.la] Error 1
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2

How do I fix this? Thanks!
