As I mentioned in an earlier message today, I'd be glad to take this
without the X in the name. So I went to apply it now, (planning to add a
commit afterwards to rename things with URI instead of XURI), but I
couldn't get the patch to apply.

So perhaps you could just regenerate the patch with the correct name in
place?

If you generate the patch with "git format-patch" then please don't add
anything to the email except for in the area after the commit message
(after "---") and before the actual patch begins. That should hopefulyl
avoid any "corrupt patch" problems like the previous patch had.
