[cairo] Which graphics format to use for graphs in .net programs

Hello,

I have some code using luacairo to produce scientific graphs. I am writing a
MS windows program in .net. I would like to display the graphs in a window
which offers some controls for the user to change the graphics.

I think it would be possible to generate the graph as png file and display it
in the graph window. But there are other options as well, e.g. SVG and I also
saw that there is a WIN32 surface. Is this the best choice? What graphics
format would you recommend in my case?
