Hello,
I'm not the guile-cairo maintainer, but wanted to clarify a couple of things
about it...

Guile-Cairo has been updated in 2012 and 2014. The git repo [never been released
indeed] supports 1.10

To install, see:

It does use the installed lib yes, the binding number means it supports 'up to that
API' ... See if cloning/using guile-cairo from the git repo resolve the problem?
But I don't know, and can't tell, sorry.
