[cairo] Strange Text proble

I'm using cairo from within an GTK-Sharp application which calling an
native library that also uses cairo for rendering.

Are there known problems combining Mono.Cairo and cairo from native code?

Some action from within native lib can destroy Spacing between glyphs in
Pango-Text output - the glyphs are moved slightly left or right from the
position the should be placed at.

There are no cairo or pango handles shared by Mono.Cairo and the native lib.

Any Idea how to further investigate that Problem?
