Bad font rendering / hinting since patch

Hello,

I´m new here - and my first post is a request to revert some older patch ;-):

This patch causes a very bad rendering on Libeoffice if anti-aliasing is switched off and hinting is on - and even if anti-aliasing is on, it is much worse, compared to libcairo 1.16.
Devs of LO say "it´s not our bug" - and self-compiled 1.18 without this patch shows, they are right?!?
