so far the collection has >100 gradients, I even sorted them into
categories

I have less than 100 patterns that I hope to submit soon.

Given that current filecount of the project is ~800 (rough estimate based
on version 0.05) seperate categories for these doesn't seem like a bad
idea to me. Having looked at many gradient collections on the web for
various pieces of graphics software this category could get very very
large, then patterns category even more so. It may seem unnecessary right
now but OpenClipart.org will get much bigger and when we are using
keywords rather than physical directories it will be less cumbersome.

You are right that a top level clipart directory does notreally make
sense.
you seem to agree that seperate directories (later would be
changed to the more abstract keywords) would be a good idea but you are
suggesting less of them and suggesting less straight forward
names.

Given that we already have a sample document for working with Scribus we
will likely need some way to organise this in the future.

I cannot help thinking we need a Bugzilla too.
Tracking things like the passfail reports or minor errors in files might
help encourage people to download and fix those files.

Hopefully I'll have some files to submit later this afternoon.

Sincerely

Alan Horkan.
