Please do report bugs.

librsvg is fairly actively maintained and it forms the basis of much of
the SVG support in Gnome.  It is used by Nautilus, and it provides SVG
support to gdkpixbuf capable applications such as EOG.  It is also the
basis of SVG import into the GIMP.  I think all of this has a knock on
effect to Inkscape.

In the short term it may not be ideal but as it is at the core of the
Gnome desktop and used by so many applications I think that in the long
term it is best to try and work with them unless there are very strong
reasons to do otherwise.
