OOo is mentioned as some OOo people were involved by various degrees in 
the project and OOo is a big *potential* user of our images.

The key problem is OOo does _not_ import SVG images, so you can't use 
them directly, will have to convert to some intermediary formats (like 
PNG or EPS), operation which involve some losses. (I described in a 
previous message where to find such packages)

Not at last, it is worth to watch the most voted RFE in OOo, support for 
SVG import: http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2497
