I do see a little weirdness there with Opera 8.02 on Debian.  The Google
search box and the little tricolor arrow thingie next to it appear
displaced, beneath the Browse and Download links, slightly overlapping
the blank white area below.

It's nothing that makes the site unusable, just a bit odd.

I wouldn't worry about it, though; we are in the process of
redesigning the layout, and among other changes that whole bar
will be going away.  You can preview the new look here:

This work is not yet completed, but it's getting there.  A few
things remain to be done, and at some point we wanted to solicit
review from more of the people on this list, before deploying.

Opera seems to render the proposed page, as it currently stands,
just fine, BTW.  Discussion about this redesign, and about what
remains to be done, has been taking place here:
