[Clipart] some of the pictures contain binary code

In the case of woman_chemist, there was no damage done by turning off
the "Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilites", but I would have to save
each file in this fashion and then confirm that it survived.

Not too big of a deal I guess.

I'll try and watch for this as I create content, or eventually move away
from AI for this purpose.

However I do feel that if OCAL wishes to become a really used and
topnotch collection it need to play nice with both Open Source and
commercial titles.

Perhaps an FAQ page on best methods within AI and other packages to
submit to OCAL would be useful for content submitters.

I tried a number of save option in AI for SVG.

The only setting that made a difference to file size was "Preserve
Illustrator Editing Capabilites" which resulted in a significantly
smaller file. Unfortunatly in the case of the 50's jukebox image (which
I was testing with), the image was damaged when I re-opened the file. It
was unable to render the objects with "holes" in them.

If I could get inkscape to import EPS in my windows environment, I may
no longer need to use AI.

Alternatly I could maybe script something to remove these sections
before uploading. Is the section tagged in any way ?

Agree...could you file a bug please:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/buglist.cgi?product=openclipart.org

Illustrator embeds any bitmaps and thumbnails of the svg inside an svg
file, thus making the bloat.

Thanks!
