Never worked with ccHost, can't help patching it. Sadly to hear,
categories were great in the past. 

My main problem is, that creating a package and corresponding
OpenOffice gallery files ended up in one big category. This makes it
very hard to use the cliparts in OpenOffice, because you see ~12000
cliparts in a bunch without any sorting.
