cool, that is great! I moved all the widgets to being proper widgets, and
they use the class sidebox and wrapper class. The basic form is:

widget class: sidebox

<h3>Title</h3>
<div class="wrapper">
<p>Some stuff</p>
</div>


Also, there is another hack:

<div class="boxtop"></div>
<div class="wrapper">Some content</div>
<div class="boxbottom"></div>

Which can help too, but you have to use sidebox class...
