So I just landed the patch as is. It'd be nice to have some figures
about the memcpy() Vs just setting the last row but I think I'd want
some unit tests on the matrices first before touching it. I'll keep
that as an item on the ever growing TODO list.

In the mean time, the bug is fixed in master.
