Some sensors support a different mode for plasma display types, for
instance the ColorHug has a ccmx type specifically for this display
kind. Other sensors just treat this as a refresh-type display, so it's
really to make the UI look pretty in this case.

This is the result of the discussions I had with Kai-Uwe and Chris on
the openicc mailing list, basically, if you install the "official"
sRGB profile from color.org or the "official" AdobeRGB form adobe then
it gets chosen in preference to the built-in versions.

No, not at all. It's turned off at the moment in Fedora as it still
generates all kinds of funky selinux AVCs with some SANE drivers. The
Ubuntu guys did rework how I did things originally, so it's slightly
better in that it's much simpler and there's no silly extra process
hanging around waiting for a scanner to appear.
