I think you might be right, the problem is worst when
starting up, after a few minutes of use the white
window problem is gone.

I haven't seen the stacking problem since so I assume
that was a strange problem here.

One interesting thing to note is that the kde pager
now only shows 2 viewports.  Before it showed 8.
It never worked totally anyway so maybe that is
unrelated.

I am using nVidia 9742 drivers with KDE 3.5.5
