That has:

~ $ ps -edalf | grep compiz
0 Z ovid 4940 4889 0 75 0 - 0 exit 09:01 ? 00:00:00 [compiz] <defunct>
0 S ovid 5064 1 0 76 0 - 7842 - 09:03 ? 00:00:01 compiz-tray-icon
0 S ovid 20270 1 0 75 0 - 3062 - 17:14 ? 00:00:01 compiz --replace dbus csm
0 R ovid 21137 19602 0 76 0 - 722 - 17:41 pts/1 00:00:00 grep compiz

It looks like --replace is for dbus and csm. I don't know what that means, though.

So do I need to install the gconf plugin? How do I do that? I've been relying entirely on the Synaptic Package Manager to upgrade my compiz stuff. (sorry for being so clueless about this)

Cheers,
Ovid
