OK - Thats in, I can tweak it if needs be but I think is good in
its simple state.

I have put the notification plugin into git here.

git://people.freedesktop.org/~mike/notification

If you use notification-daemon>=0.3.7 (and libnotify>=0.4.4) then
you will see nice slightly transparent popups.
