I don't think that anisotropic filtering will have noticable performance hit.

Anisotropic filtering was an option in beryl and nobody complained ;)

I did attached it. Maybe mailing list cut it off. I'll put in on some
website when I get home.
Or maybe you're referring to the anisotropic filtering patch, then
yes, I didn't made it yet for compiz ;)
