One thing that confuses me about this bug report is that GDM shouldn't
be activating ConsoleKit unitl after the X server is up.  ConsoleKit
is normally activated as part of setting up the session for the
greeter, which happens when the X server says "I'm ready".

Do you know what's going on there?  Of course, if the kernel is
returning EINVAL as part of "normal" operation, we should make we can
gracefully recover from it (or maybe switch to the the newer
VT_WAITEVENT api?).
