I very much hope to see these consequences gone forever.

I have to admit that I feel a little lost in this thread - it started
basically from nowhere, assuming all the subscribed people are in the
context of the issue.

Could someone please come up with a basic overview, what the problem
exactly is, where we are right now and what needs to be done?
