In the font design toolkits (both open and somewhat restricted) plenty
of scripts and tools also use Python.
For example:
- http://fontforge.sourceforge.net/python.html
- http://sourceforge.net/projects/fonttools/
AFAICT most designers have enjoyed some python goodness in their
creation workflow which is great!
