[CREATE] LGM 2008 and 2009 reimbursements - Process starting

Hi LGMers !

First, I want to thank again all the people who made it at both LGM 2008 -
Wroclaw and more recently at LGM 2009 - Montreal.

It’s more than inspiring to see you all gather into this tremendous meeting
that is LGM since the very first time in Lyon - 2006.

Second, for those of you who are waiting for a reimbursement of your travel
expenses, we’ve got news for you !

We are now ready to start the reimbursement process.

Yes, yes and yes, it has been too long, much too long before we reimburse
your travel expenses. I am very sorry for this. The story
is rather unusual. In short, there are quite a few people who haven’t
received any money back for their trip to Poland in 2008 while there
was more than enough money in the bank in Poland. An almost incredible
sequence of events resulted in the delays we’re facing now — and still are
at the moment of writing this message.

But, after months of pushing hard and waiting and exchanging emails and
trying to find out what was going on and why and when the money would be
available to finally reimburse the participants of LGM 2008, we are now
almost sure we’re going to see this money one day and this is why we start
the process.

So.

For the few people who haven’t yet received their reimbursement for LGM 2008
Wroclaw, please file yourself in the link below. We will match your info
with the one we already have on file. This is needed because I want to make
sure we’re not missing anybody. So please file yourself in. Please make sure
to check the appropriate LGM year.

LGMers of 2009 in Montreal are asked to do the same. If you were a
participant at both meetings and are seeking a reimbursement for both trips,
please file a second request for 2009, checking the appropriate LGM box.

The gathering of the info will end within THE NEXT THREE WEEKS, ON FRIDAY
FEB. 19, 2010.

According to the info we have, the budget for 2008 will be enough to cover
that year's travel expenses and there will be money remaining from that LGM
that we can use for the expenses of 2009.

For 2009, we don’t know YET how much money we have but we will soon find
out.

The rule is the same as previously.

*Who qualifies :* Developers or presenters who have attended LGM and who are
officially entitled by each team’s leader(s) or who were invited to talk at
LGM by the organisers and who have not been sponsored by other means to
travel to LGM.

*What we reimburse : *We aim at reimbursing in full the travel trip, that is
the transportation only, plane, bus, train, fuel, upon receipt of the proof
of purchase of your ticket. We need to first find out the total amount we
are asked to reimburse. If there is enough money, we reimburse 100%, if not,
then we’ll reimburse proportionally to the money we have. If we have more
money, the remainder is bumped into the next LGM budget. So far, we’ve been
lucky enough to be able to reimburse 100% of the submitted expenses. So
let’s hope it’s going to be the same for 2009.
