[CREATE] Call for GSoC students at LGM Leipzig 2014

Dear all,

I would like to remind you, that we have the chance to bring former
GSoC students to LGM this year. (GSoC of 2014 has not started yet, so
former years are fine.)

Carol from Google agreed to put up 4000 USD  (500USD per student for
up to 8 students; mentors cannot be funded unfortunately). In order to
fully utilize the funding, we should get 8 students who could come.

We have 3 sign ups at the moment. One person comes from India and
requires over 1000 USD for the flight. Carol agreed that we can
distribute the funding freely among the students though. So, if we get
a student from Germany for example, who does not need so much funding,
we could use the remaining money for another student who needs more,
because he/she comes from further away.

There is no specific deadline, but the earlier we have enough
students, the better. So, we can confirm them. If we should get too
many students, we will find a pragmatic solution with the LGM content
team and involved projects.

Payments of the funding will be done by bank transfer or cash by me. I
will take care of the dealings with Google. Students have to buy the
flights beforehand by themselves and get reimbursed afterwards.

At the moment, it does not look like we get too many students, in fact
quite a few students have written to me already that they
unfortunately cannot make it as they do not have time, because of
university etc.

So, please ask your students to come to LGM and get the support
funding of Google.
