into the layers stack specification proper. It's currently languishing
as an extension, and it doesn't look as though MyPaint is implementing
it yet... *sigh*

If we formalize it, can we decide to use SemVer[1] as we do so please?
I'd like this to be the next change to the specification, and for the
first revision of the spec which incorporates (and requires that files
be written with) versioning information to be declared as
version="0.0.1".


[1] http://semver.org/ - mostly because all the cool kids like it, so
there are parsers and libs for comparisons of the things out there
which reduces my loathing of parsed strings in XML to tolerable
levels.
