SV: Cannot connect to message bus

Hi,

You need to type:

dbus-monitor --system 

to specify the system bus (i.e. all users share it) instead of the default
session bus (which is only for your user and usually has a lifetime as long
as your desktop session). There's a brief description of each in the
dbus-daemon-1 man page.
